Recent rum entrant The Equiano Rum Co has followed its debut iteration a year ago with a white rum from its namesake brand.
Just over 12 months on from the release of an aged expression, the company has lined up the Europe-wide roll-out of Equiano Light. Like its portfolio partner, the new addition is a blend of rums produced at Foursquare Distillery in Barbados and Mauritius Gray s Distillery.
The company, which takes its name from 18th-Century slave and subsequent slavery-abolitionist Olaudah Equiano, will continue to donate US$2 per bottle sold and 5% of its annual profits to ground-level freedom and equality projects .
